Hi everyone,
PYNQ v3.1 (Carlisle) is now officially released. See the release notes here. The new SD card images are available here.
What’s New in v3.1?
New features:
We’re excited to announce the beta release of PYNQ.remote and PYNQ.cpp.
- PYNQ.remote is a new way of running PYNQ from a host computer, making it easier to integrate PYNQ into host-based software and hardware.
- PYNQ.cpp is a lightweight PYNQ-like C++ API making it easier to move from PYNQ prototype to deployed application.
- More details on PYNQ.remote and PYNQ.cpp can be found here
- PYNQ.remote and PYNQ.cpp are in active development. There will be more posts and demonstrators showing off the new capabilities over the coming months, so keep an eye on the forum for more information.
SD Build Improvements:
- We have retired the Vagrant VM method in favour of a new Docker-based build flow, making it easier to build PYNQ SD card images.
- There is also now a
pynqremotetarget available in the Makefile for building minimal Petalinux images to work with PYNQ.remote.
As always, no runtime Python APIs have changed, so your existing notebooks will continue to work as expected.
A huge thank you to all the contributors, board partners and community members around the world.
The PYNQ team
