JennySmith888, I have resolved this problem. I connected using the Micro USB port, not the Micro USB 3.0. Note however, that this applies to CASPER framework (which is very different from PYNQ). No extra hardware is required.

What am I doing wrong here? RFSoC2x2 board USB not recognized on Ubuntu. No Serial connection through USB

I think this is the same issue I ran into. I had to use the Platform Cable USB II.
