For a project I am designing an interface board which will be plugged onto the PYNQ-Z1 board (6003-410-017) in combination with the Plexiglass cover (240-113). In order to match the dimensions and the location of the mounting holes with the Plexiglass cover I have used the dxf (and pdf) from the “protective Acrylic case” zip file, available on Digilent’s website.
As mechanical verification I also added the 3D step file of the PYNQ-Z1 board. However there are 2 zip files available: “3D model” (pynq-z1_3d.zip) and “3D case” (pynq_case_modified). Both files include an identical step file of the PYNQ-Z1 PCB and the plexiglass cover (including standoffs & screws).
It seems however that the step file of the Plexiglass cover of both zip files is different compared to the dxf from “protective Acrylic case”: It has e.g. a cutout in the plexiglass for the JP1 header and not for the JP4 header. The biggest and most important difference is the distance between the mounting holes (see attached image and info below) and there is also a minor difference between the outline dimensions.
Consequently the location of the standoffs and screws included in the step files from “3D model” or “3D case” do not match with the location of the mounting holes of the dxf from the “protective Acrylic case” zip file.
Could someone confirm that the dxf from the “protective Acrylic case” zip file is indeed the correct version? Is there also a 3D step file available of the PYNZ-Z1 board in combination with the correct plexiglass cover (including the correct position of the standoffs & screws)?
Could someone also share the correct spacing between the Arduino/ChipKIT headers? Currently I determined the location based on the dxf, but no clear dimensions are mentioned in the documentation (reference manual, etc…).
