RFSoC 4x2 Laser Cut (or 3D Printed) Case

I’ve been using the RFSoC 4x2 lately, but was a little worried about having it sitting unprotected on my workbench. I saw a couple 3D printed case designs out there, but they didn’t quite meet my needs, and were a bit too large for my printer. I have a CO2 laser cutter and some pieces of acrylic, so I decided to make a simple laser cut case.

It pretty much just surrounds/covers the board, with cutouts for the switches/buttons/display/etc., and notches for finger access to connectors as needed. Since the sides are open, all the connectors are accessible. I used M3 screws and standoffs from a kit like: https://www.amazon.com/DANA-FRED-Brass-Standoff/dp/B06XCNF6HK to hold everything together, and stuck some rubber feet on the bottom. I used translucent blue acrylic, just because I had a large enough piece to make the case out of it. Of course blue filters some colors, so if you care about seeing all the status LEDs and stuff, you could make the top out of clear acrylic (or leave the top off if you just care about having a plate on the bottom).

The .dxf files are attached for laser cutting. I also included .stl files in case you’d like to 3D print this. I personally used 3mm thick acrylic, and also made the .stl files 3mm thick.

Anyway, figured I’d share the design in case it helps anyone else. It’s a quick cut for a laser cutter, and should be a simple print if your 3D printer is large enough.
