Ubuntu in VM installation

We are wondering to install Virtual Machine/Box in Windows PC. Inside the Virtual Machine, we need to install Ubuntu 20.04.

I just found the link to Virtual Box.

https://www.virtualbox.org/

Link to the Ubuntu 20.04-focal

Which image should I use.

Look like “ubuntu-20.04.6-desktop-amd64.iso” which is around 4.1 GB - Desktop image for 64-bit PC (AMD64) computers (standard download)

Question: If something goes wrong during the installation or at latter stage, can we just delete everything and get back to the normal Windows PC ?

Are you trying to build the PYNQ image? I went through this exercise recently, and I used VM Workstation Pro, which I believe is free now.

It runs inside the PC just like another Windows App so if I understand your question then yes if you mess up you can just delete the VM as easily as you would a word document. And yes I used ubuntu-20.04.6-desktop-amd64.iso.
