Hello everyone,
I am using the Pynq-z2 board with image version 3.0.1.
I designed a neural network for handwritten digit recognition in Systemverilog and I am trying to turn this into a custom IP block to implement it into the Pynq board.
The input of my NN is a 8 bits wide, 784 elements long array (flatten image). It has an enable signal and a done signal, with the output digit. I used the “Create and package IP” tool to create a custom IP implementing this NN.
It has 6 registers. 3 are used as inputs:
- one for the enable,
- one for the pixel address,
- one for the pixel value,
The other 3 are outputs: - one to check if the pixel value has been stored in the NN input array,
- one for the NN done signal,
- one for the result.
The IP code is the following:
// Add user logic here
neural_network NN (.clk(S_AXI_ACLK),.enable(slv_reg0),.img(img),.digit_out(digit),.NN_done(NN_done));
always @(posedge S_AXI_ACLK) begin
img[slv_reg1] <= slv_reg2;
end
assign pixel_stored = (img[slv_reg1] == slv_reg2)? 1:0;
// User logic ends
and to update the output registers:
else begin
slv_reg3 <= pixel_stored;
slv_reg4 <= digit;
slv_reg5 <= NN_done;
if (slv_reg_wren)
The entire code for the S00_AXI module can be found here:
